A Message For My Teen

A Message For My Teen

Traveling through those teenage years with your child can be a very difficult journey. This poem aims at communicating your love and understanding to your child, and letting them know that you do understand how difficult things are for them at this time in their lives. Even though it may just be a temporary reprieve, expressing your emotions to your child is a very positive step forward.

Special Nurse

For A Special Nurse

Nurses are such important people. Maybe you know someone who recently graduated from nursing school, or perhaps you encountered a special nurse who was caring for you, or for someone you love. Can you imagine how much she would appreciate the words of this poem?

Doctor

For A Wonderful Doctor

Perhaps you have recently encountered a wonderful doctor who took amazing care of you or of someone you love. Wouldn't it be nice just to let them know how special they are, and what their kindness meant the world to you. Everyone likes to be thanked and feel appreciated.

mom

Mom
This poem addresses how often we forget to thank our Mothers for all that they do. It focuses on the multitude of ways they care for us...often getting little in return. If you want to "thank" your mother, this is a beautiful way to let her know how very much she is loved.

A Message For My Father

A Message For My Father
I wrote this poem for my father as a Father's Day gift, many years ago. I can tell you that he treasured it until the day he died. We had a very special relationship. He was my father, but he was also my friend. He was completely supportive throughout my entire life, and even though he has been gone for over 25 years, I think of him daily. I was blessed to have such an amazing father. If your father is special to you, don't wait a minute longer before you let him know.

For A Special Cousin

For A Special Cousin
When you were growing up, did you have a cousin who was close in age to you, who you spent a lot of time with? This poem was written for that person. Consider sending it to her, for no reason at all, other than the fact that you shared a very special bond throughout your lives, and you would just like to let her know that she will always occupy a special place within your heart.

For My Brother

For My Brother
Our lives are terribly hectic, and we don't often have (or take) the time to express our love to the people in our lives who mean the most to us. If you have a brother who you love, this poem will help you to express your innermost feelings. There is also a little bit of humor in the poem, which most brothers would probably appreciate.

For My Aunt

For My Aunt

If you were lucky, you may have had one aunt who stood out from all the rest. One aunt who you knew adored you...an aunt who played a special part in your life from the time you were just a little child. IF you were that lucky, you should take the time to send her this poem. It would mean a lot to her.

My Husband's Mother

My Husband's Mother

This is one of my most popular, most loved, poems. It is a gift for a mother-in-law. Someone once asked me why I chose this title. My answer was this: The term Mother-in-law tends to have a negative connotation, and I wanted this poem to have a "loving aura." It is a poem in which a wife is thanking her mother-in-law for having done such a wonderful job raising her son. The wife, of course, was the beneficiary, because her husband was a kind and loving man...raised by a beautiful, compassionate mother.

Remember Me

Remember Me
I wrote this poem for a friend who had lost her Mom. It is difficult to write poems in memory of the departed, because (at least for me) my goal in writing is to bring some sense of peace and solace to those left behind. With this poem, I tried to encourage my friend to focus on the happy times she shared with her mother, and I also wanted to leave her with the hope that one day, they would have a chance to meet again.

A Place Called Home

When my first-born went off to college, I was missing him terribly. I wrote this poem to let him know, that if he became lonely while he was away, all he had to do was find a quiet place and think of ...  and we too, would be thinking of him.
